Guy Josef Kemelmakher

With great excitement we can say that Guy Kemelmakher is one of our former members. Previously a senior engineer with us, he has graduated as of Spring, 2025 and is now working at Starlink full time. Guy is a passionate and unique individual that was beloved by all members of our lab and we will miss him greatly. He inspired many students and staff across the University of Georgia campus as he was heavily involved in the engineering clubs and research labs. If you got the opportunity to meet with guy while he was still here, this is a good idea of what he was like:
Greetings! My name is Guy, and I’m a senior multifaceted Mechanical Engineer with experience at SpaceX, Delta, and a lot more. I love putting myself into challenging situations that force me to learn something new, so I’ve ended up learning a lot from a wild array of projects- from an 18-axis robot to high-level CFD analysis to staying way too late in the FabLab welding a giant battle-axe together. My focuses in CREATE are leading or advising general projects and managing our own CNC mills. It’s my goal to share the knowledge I’ve picked up over the years, especially in mechanical design and practical manufacturing technologies (i.e. working with metal) that UGA otherwise doesn’t really teach.
