Patricio Martinez

Patricio is a third-year Mechanical Engineering major slated to graduate in the spring of 2027. His interests include manufacturing and design-related positions, given his background in CAD and 3D printing projects and experiences. A former Dover Food Retail manufacturing engineering intern, Patricio is looking to apply his newly found skills at CREATE to contribute towards engaging projects and to continue building his professional skills.

In addition to these experiences, Patricio has formerly worked under Dr. Sun as a summer research volunteer seeking to gather a database of more than 1,000 gun part STL files with the assistance of two other researchers. The primary purpose of gathering this data was to train an AI model to detect whether certain STL files were gun parts or malicious, in order to prevent the rise of ghost guns.
